How should we train modern Playwrights?
Do we give them money to live to write?
Do we send them to school?
Do we even need new plays in our lives — or has everything already been said?
If we want a modern theatre in our everyday existence — how do we make
that happen on a national level when there is no money for Art or the
rehabilitation of the essence of the human spirit?
Tough call, David.
Maybe something like the Google / Facebook fellowships?
We need some way to preserve the intention of the Arts in our society. We cannot continue to choose funding guns and welfare while cutting the throats of our Artists with every budget slashing.
