Hi DGS!

Thanks for the kind words. That means a lot to me.

I agree these selectors are terribly confusing -- and they're generally non-standardized from theme to theme on WordPress.com -- so you really have to work and experiment and find what works and what doesn't.

Love the look of your blog! The black and white is stunning. Your font choices are outstanding.

Thanks for posting this! The list of selectors was extremely helpful.

This is the kind of tutorial typekit should post on their website. It makes sense once you get it, but they do an awful job of explaining what you actually need to do to get the fonts working, what the selectors are, etc...

I think I've seen three versions of the film -- which right there is a clue that something is amiss with the dramatic structure of the piece -- and I'm not sure any of the movie ever happens except that it "happens" in Donnie's mad mind. Not a very interesting premise for audience investment in a film because there's nothing to cling to there except the ether of his fantasies. If this isn't Donnie's story -- then who is telling it to us?

I think I understand now. When I saw Donnie Darko, I saw the Director's Cut. I have never seen the film as it was first presented.

Therefore to me, the 'time tunnel' is all I know :)

We sort of discussed that here:

http://relationshaping.com/2009/02/23/donnie-darko-on-blu-ray-dvd/

I linked that article in today's Twilight Zone piece.

If you have more specific questions, I'm happy to answer them here.

[...] The next example of a “Twilight Zone” ending is — Shutter Island — because director Martin Scorsese didn’t trust the truth of, and the human authenticity of, the original book; and so he inserted his own, heavy-handed, and meathooky, melodramatic, ending. Leonardo DiCaprio perfectly played the role of an insane man — except at the end of the movie when Scorsese forced him to utter a final line that was not in the book: “Would you rather live as a monster or die as a hero?“ [...]
